Abstract:

Tato disertační práce prezentuje simulaci ve zdravotnictví jako nástroje pro zlepšení bezpečnosti pacientů. Poukazuje na komplexitu zdravotnických systémů a vykresluje paralely s organizacemi s vysokou mírou spolehlivostí (HRO). Práce ukazuje, jak mů-že simulace zlepšit technické i netechnické dovednosti, což je zásadní pro rychlé roz-hodování u promptních změn ve stavu potencionálně kriticky nemocného pacienta v rámci specializované péče v oborech anesteziologie, intenzivní péče a urgentní medi-cíny. Simulace může pomoci v prevenci medicínských chyb, identifikaci jejich příčiny a zmírňování jejich dopadů na zdraví pacientů, jak z pohledu jednotlivců, tak i systé-mu. Práce zdůrazňuje význam simulace ve vzdělávání a diskutuje různé simulační modality a jejich aplikace, včetně principů Crisis Resource Management a nastavení bezpečného prostředí, kde jsou chyby vnímány jako příležitosti k učení a rozvoji. Dále poukazuje na simulaci jako cenný nástroj pro výzkum s praktickými příklady, jak lze zacelit identifikované knowledge gaps za pomocí simulací. Cílem této práce je poskytnout ucelený přehled o simulaci ve zdravotnictví jako rychle se rozvíjejícího oboru pro zlepšení bezpečnosti pacientů a výcvik budoucích zdravotnických profesionálů. Simulace ve zdravotnictví představuje nový způsob myšlení, kognitivní vzorec založený na důvěře a závazku k nepřetržitému profesionálnímu růstu.

Abstract:

This dissertation presents simulation in healthcare as a tool for improving patient safety. It highlights the complexity of healthcare systems and draws parallels with high-reliability organizations(HROs). This thesis shows how simulation can improve technical and non-technical skills, which is crucial for quick decision-making in the face of rapid changes in the condition of potentially critical patients in anaesthesia, intensive care, and emergency medicine. Simulation can aid in preventing medical errors, identifying their causes, and mitigating their impacts on patient health from individual and system perspectives. The dissertation emphasizes the importance of simulation in education. It discusses various simulation modalities and their applications, including the principles of Crisis Resource Management and creating a safe environment where errors are seen as opportunities for learning and development. It further highlights simulation as a valuable research tool with practical examples of how identified knowledge gaps can be bridged through simulation. This dissertation aims to provide a comprehensive overview of simulation in healthcare as a rapidly developing field for improving patient safety and training future healthcare professionals. Simulation in healthcare represents a new way of thinking, a cognitive framework based on trust and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
