Vrchlický - Karásek: Two models of the lyric.

Abstract:

Základním cílem práce je porovnání dvou způsobů utváření lyriky, parnasistní a dekadentní. Jako materiál bude autorce sloužit lyrika Jaroslava Vrchlického z osmdesátých let 19. století, která představuje dobově autoritativní i kanonický korpus parnasistní lyriky. Z různorodé mnohosti dekadentní poezie pak práce přihlédne k poezii Jiřího Karáska, a to od počátků jeho básnické tvorby do konce 19. století. Výběr konkrétních sbírek, případně důraz na některé z nich, vyplynou z konzultací. V první části práce, který bude představovat východisko, autorka shromáždí a vyhodnotí dobový ohlas příslušných sbírek, oporou jí budou příslušná hesla Lexikonu české literatury. Následná analýza bude mít komplexní povahu, předmětem budou jak záležitosti motivické, prozodické, jazykové, povaha obraznosti, ale také základní obrysy dění smyslu. Zejména se pozornost soustředí na modifikace milostné lyriky.

Abstract:

The basic aim of the thesis is to compare two ways of forming lyricism, the Parnassian and the decadent. The author will use Jaroslav Vrchlický's lyrics from the 1880s, which represent the authoritative and canonical corpus of Parnassian lyrics. From the diverse variety of decadent poetry, the thesis will then take into account the poetry of Jiří Karásek, from the beginnings of his poetic output to the end of the 19th century. The selection of specific collections, or the emphasis on some of them, will emerge from the consultations. In the first part of the thesis, which will constitute the starting point, the author will collect and evaluate the contemporary reception of the relevant collections, supported by the relevant entries in the Lexicon of Czech Literature. The subsequent analysis will be of a complex nature, the subject matter will include matters of motive, prosodic, language, the nature of imagery, as well as the basic contours of the processes of meaning. In particular, the focus will be on the modifications of love lyric.
