Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o strategiích pro učení se slovíček dospělých studentů anglického jazyka. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se práce soustředí na charakteristiku učení dospělých studentů a také na individuální rozdíly mezi studenty, které mají vliv na použití učebních strategií. Dále se teoretická část soustředí na slovní zásobu a definici učebních strategií v obecném slova smyslu. Teoretická část poté popisuje učební strategie pro učení slovní zásoby a jejich klasifikaci. V neposlední řadě se také soustředí na učení těchto strategií a charakteristiku úspěšných studentů. V praktické části se práce zabývá akčním výzkumem, ve kterém se nejprve pomocí dotazníků zjišťuje jaké strategie učení se slovní zásoby daní dospělí studenti při svém učení používají. Dále je pomocí observací zkoumáno, zda se daní dospělí mohou naučit strategie, které předtím nepoužívali, a jak hodnotí jejich užitečnost pomocí následného rozhovoru.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with vocabulary learning strategies of adult learners of English. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the learning characteristics of adult students and learner differences, which have some effect on the use of learning strategies. The theoretical part also focuses on vocabulary and the definition of the learning strategies in the general matter. It also describes vocabulary learning strategies and their classification. Lastly, the theoretical part focuses on teaching vocabulary learning strategies and on the characteristics of successful students. The empirical part of the thesis describes action research, in which, through questionnaires, the learning strategies that adult students use when learning vocabulary are determined. Then, by means of observations, it is examined whether these adults can learn vocabulary learning strategies they did not use before and how they evaluate their usefulness through subsequent interviews.
