Influence of the English language on the Portuguese language in day-to-day communication
Abstract:
This master's thesis researches the sociolinguistic influencing factors of the use of anglicisms. The focus group are university students who belong to Generation Z. The thesis researches the use of 8 anglicisms - tea, red flag, slay, periodt, bae, canceled, sus and flex. It identifies the environment in which these words are used and researches their Portuguese equivalents.
Abstract:
Táto magisterská diplomová práca skúma sociolingvistické faktory, ktoré ovplyvňujú používanie anglicizmov. Cieľová skupina sú univerzitní študenti, ktorí patria do generácie Z. Práca skúma používanie 8 anglicizmov, špecifických pre túto generáciu - tea, red flag, slay, periodt, bae, canceled, sus a flex. Identifikuje prostredie používania týchto slov a skúma ich portugalské ekvivalenty.
