Manager versus leader in the hotel industry

Abstract:

Zvolené a vypracované téma bakalářské práce je Manažer versus leader v hotelnictví. Bakalářská práce je sestavena ze tří částí, a to teoreticko metodologické, praktické a návrhové. V první části je zpracována pečlivě prostudovaná vybraná domácí a zahraniční odborná literatura, uvedeny jsou názory různých autorů a jejich pohled na danou problematiku týkající se tématu manažer versus leader. V teoretické části jsem se zaměřil na charakteristiku, osobnost a požadované kompetence manažera a leadera, na jejich roli při naplňování jednotlivých manažerských funkcí v oboru hotelnictví. Druhá část je analytická, zahrnuje průzkum s cílem identifikovat požadavky kladené na manažera a na leadera v hotelnictví včetně interpretace získaných dat. Průzkum byl proveden pomocí řízeného rozhovoru, kterého se zúčastnili vedoucí pracovníci vedení více hotelů. Po jeho ukončení následovalo jeho zhodnocení a vymezení převládajících vlastností respondentů. Třetí část je návrhová, kde na základě výsledků průzkumu formuluji závěry a navrhuji opatření k eliminaci zjištěných problémů. Navrhnuji, kdy je vhodnější, aby hotel vedl manažer a kdy leader.

Abstract:

Selected and elaborated by these bachelor thesis is Manager versus leader in hotel industry. Bachelor thesis is composed of three parts of pronouns the theoretical methodological part, practical part and third proposal part. In the first part, the processing, based on a carefully studied and selected domestic and foreign literature, introduces the opinions of various authors and their views on the issue of the manager's leader versus leader. In the theoretical part, I focused on the characteristics, personality and required competencies of the manager and the leader, their role in fulfilling the individual management functions in the hotel industry. The second part is an analytical chapter that includes a survey to identify the requirements for the manager and the leader in the hotel industry, including the interpretation of the acquired data. The survey was conducted with the help of a managed interview, attended by senior staff of management at the few hotels. After the interview was completed the evaluation and definition of the prevailing qualities of the respondent followed. The third part is a proposal where, based on the results of the survey, I draw conclusions and propose measures to eliminate the identified problems. I suggest when it is better for a manager to run a hotel or a leader.
