The analysis of sport press texts

Abstract:

Tento příspěvek se zaměřuje na popis současné sportovní publicistiky. Cílem je porovnat jazykové prostředky v bulvárním a seriózním tisku na základě excerpce dat z deníku Blesk a z Lidových novin. V teoretické části tohoto příspěvku se pojednává o definicích a funkcích publicistického stylu a vymezují se zde různé jazykové prostředky, které jsou důležité pro utváření sportovní publicistiky. Okrajově je pojednáno i o expresivitě a persvazi v textech sportovní publicistiky. Následná analýza jazykových prostředků z deníku Blesk a z Lidových novin potvrdila, že se bulvární a seriózní tisk v mnohém přibližují. Dokladem toho jsou články z oblasti bulváru, které se objevovaly v Lidových novinách. Serióznost Lidových novin nemůžeme dostatečně hodnotit, protože jsme zkoumali pouze sportovní rubriku, která se v současnosti snaží vyrovnat se stereotypním typem informování, který je vzhledem k povaze textů přirozený.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses in description of today’s sport journalism. Its goal is to compare linguistic instruments in yellow press and quality papers base on excerption of data from Blesk journal and Lidové noviny. Theoretical volume of this thesis dissertates the definitions and functions of journalstic style and different linguistic instruments important for creation of sport journalism are presented there. Partially is discussed also expressivity and persuasion in sport journalistic texts. Subsequent analysis of linguistic instruments in Blesk journal and Lidové noviny confirms resemblance between yellow press and quality papers. As the evidence are instrumental articles from the scope of yellow press published in Lidové noviny. Seriousness of Lidové noviny can’t be sufficiently proved, because the research examined only sport pages. Those are presently trying to settle on stereotypical standards of informing which is considering the character of such wording natural.
