Computer simulation and structural analysis of nanoparticles

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá počítačovými simulacemi mesoskopických modelů nanočástic zlata. Jejím cílem je prozkoumat stabilitu modelů nanočástic, nanokvádru a nanoválce, v závislosti na parametrech modelu a na parametrech simulace. Zkoumané parametry modelu byly samotný tvar nanočástice a počet vazeb na každý segment nanočástice. Zkoumaný parametr simulace byl časový krok. Pro simulace byla zvolena metoda disipativní částicové dynamiky implementována v simulačním balíku DL_MESO. Stabilita nanočástic byla vyhodnocována na základě strukturních charakteristik jako vzdálenost páru segmentů, kvadrát poloměru gyrace a radiální distribuční funkce. Na základě analýzy získaných dat byla pro každý druh nanočástice určena sada parametrů, při kterých se v simulacích projevuje stabilně.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with mesoscale simulations of gold nanoparticles, i.e. gold nanocuboids and nanocylinders. The aim of the thesis is to explore stability of models with respect to model's parameters and with respect to parameters of simulation itself. Parameters of interest were shape of nanoparticle, number of bonds per each segment of nanoparticle and simulation's time step. Dissipative particle dynamics simulation method implemented in free simulation package DL_MESO was chosen for mesoscopic simulations. Stability of nanoparticles was monitored via structural characteristics such as pairwise distance of segments, squared radius of gyration and radial distribution function. After the evaluation and analysis, set of parameters was presented at the end of the thesis for which the nanoparticles were considered stable.
