Specific issues of school preparation in childrens home

Abstract:

Moje diplomová práce se zabývá průběhem školní přípravy v dětském domově v Náměšti nad Oslavou. V teoretické části jsem čerpala z odborné literatury. Popisuji zde problematiku psychického vývoje dětí, problematiku psychické deprivace, funkci rodiny, patologické jevy, které se v rodinném prostředí vyskytují. Dále zde uvádím dělení ústavní výchovy a náhradní rodinné výchovy, pojem výchovy a osobnost vychovatele. Vzhledem k tomu, že v dětském domově žijí děti s poruchami chování a učení, zmiňuji také tuto problematiku. V empirické části se zabývám kvalitativně orientovaným výzkumem. Uskutečnila jsem rozhovory s vychovateli a dětmi z dětského domova, které jsem zpracovala pomocí metody „zakotvené teorie“. Zkoumala jsem průběh školní přípravy, postoj dětí a vychovatelů ke školní přípravě, spolupráci mezi vychovateli dětského domova a učiteli základní školy a také spolupráci mezi vychovateli a rodiči dětí z dětského domova. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že na tom, jaký bude mít školní příprava průběh, závisí především postoj dětí. Ten je bohužel většinou negativní. Dětem chybí motivace k učení, rodiče jejich snahu neocení. Mezi těmito děvčaty a chlapci jsou ale výjimky. Některé děti mají snahu něco dokázat. Pedagogové (vychovatelé a učitelé) je musí v jejich úsilí podporovat a ty ostatní motivovat k jinému přístupu.

Abstract:

The final thesis deals with school preparation at the children´s home in Náměšť nad Oslavou. I based the theoretical parts on specialized publications. I tried to describe the issues of psychological development of children, emotional deprivation, the role of the family, and pathological circumstances which may appear in families. Further topics of this part include a division of institutional education, fosterage, the concept of education as such and the personality of an educator. Since children with learning difficulties are also present in children´s homes, I mentioned this issue as well. The practical part of the thesis contains quality based research. I interviewed educators as well as children from the children´s home in Náměšť and processed these interviews by a stationary theory method. I studied the course of school preparation, the attitudes of the children and educators. The work also focused on cooperation between the educators from the children´s home and the basic school teachers and the cooperation between the educators and parents of the children. The investigation showed that the course of school preparation is mainly determined by children´s attitude. Unfortunately, this tends to be mostly rather negative. Children lack motivation to learn as their parents will not praise them. There are exceptions among the girls and boys, though. Some of the children try to achieve more. Pedagogues including educators and school teachers must encourage them in their efforts and motivate the others to change their attitude.
