Motivation of Adolescents to Selected Form of Body Art

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá motivací adolescentů k vybraným formám body artu. Vybranými formami jsou tetování a piercing. V diplomové práci je řešena problematika body artu v historii, formy a funkce body artu. Diplomová práce komparuje pohled na body art z pohledu různých vědních disciplín. Práce také hledá odpověď na otázku, jakou roli v rozhodování, pro jednu z forem body artu, adolescentů hrají vrstevníci a rodina. Práce definuje prostředí (sociální a rodinné) jako hlavní faktor, který ovlivňuje adolescenty a jejich motivaci k tělesným modifikacím. Samostatná kapitola se věnuje tetování a piercingu jako kulturnímu jevu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the motivation of adolescents to selected forms of body art. The chosen forms are tattoos and piercings. The issue of body art in history, forms and functions of body art is addressed in the diploma thesis. The diploma thesis compares the view of body art from the point of view of different scientific disciplines. The work also seeks an answer to the question of what role peers and family play in decision-making for one of the body art forms of adolescents.Thesis defines the environment (social and family) as the main factor that influences adolescents and their motivation for body modifications. A separate chapter is devoted to tattoos and piercings as a cultural phenomenon.
