This thesis explores the occurence and importance of three key themes in Virginia Woolf's early novels, sexuality, creativity and psychological instability. The novels The Voyage Out, Night and Day and Jacob's Room are used as an introduction to Woolf's fiction. Each of these three novels offers a different perspective on Woolf's work.
