Social engineering

Abstract:

V rámci cíle této práce bude vybrán konkrétní příklad kybernetického útoku z nedávné doby a na základě získaných poznatků bude vyhotoven souhrn návrhů a doporučení v souvislosti s konkrétním případem. Jako součást praktické části bude použito dotazníkové šetření, zaměřené na obecné znalosti internetového prostoru a jeho nástrah vůči cílené skupině uživatelů, společensky početné a zároveň zranitelné skupiny. Sociální inženýrství bude primárně pojato jako negativní nástroj manipulace, sloužící nejčastěji k získání citlivých dat či jako nástroj ke škodlivé nebo jiné trestné činnosti. Posléze bude navržena obecná sada bezpečnostních zásad, definujících chování klientů v souvislosti s kyberbezpečností. Ta bude zpracována v uživatelsky přátelském a dobře pochopitelném formátu pro běžného uživatele. Bude zaměřena jednak na prevenci a ochranu před kyberútočníky, ale také na včasnou identifikaci kybernetické hrozby a jejím eventuálním odstranění.

Abstract:

As part of the aim of this work, a specific example of a recent cyber-attack will be selected and a summary of proposals and recommendations will be made in relation to a specific case based on the lessons learned. As part of the practical part, a questionnaire survey will be used, focused on general knowledge of the internet space and its pitfalls towards a targeted group of users, a socially numerous and at the same time vulnerable group. Social engineering will be primarily conceived as a negative tool of manipulation used most often to obtain sensitive data or as a tool for harmful or other criminal activities. Eventually, a general set of security policies will be proposed, defining clients' behavior in relation to cybersecurity. This will be processed in a user-friendly and well-understood format for the ordinary user. It will focus on prevention and protection against cyberattacks, but also on the early identification of a cyber threat and its eventual removal.
