Cieľom bakalárskej práce je popísať trh súkromných materských škôl na Slovensku a zistiť, od čoho závisí cena školného. Prvá časť práce sa venuje zákonnej úprave materských škôl, štátnym príspevkom na dieťa na podporu rodičov a porovnaniu súkromných škôl s ich alternatívami s dôrazom na kontrast súkromných a verejných škôl.
