The Use of Basso Continuo in Mozart's Piano Concerto K414 in A major.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Užití generálbasu v Mozartově klavírním Koncertu A dur KV 414 pojednává o způsobu a možnostech hraní bassa continua na moderním klavíru v Mozartových koncertech, speciálně v Koncertu KV 414. Ve všech Mozartových klavírních koncertech se nacházejí prvky generálbasu – ať už generálbasová čísla nebo jen dublovaný violoncellový bas. Mozart ve druhé polovině 18. století sám hrával své koncerty na dobových nástrojích značky Stein a Walter a jsou zachovány důkazy, že hrál basso continuo v orchestrálních tutti. Od doby Mozarta se změnil zvuk klavíru i orchestru, a proto zůstává otázka, jestli hrát generálbas a jak.

Abstract:

The Bachelor's thesis The Use of the General Bass in Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major KV 414 deals with the way and possibilities of playing the basso continuo on the modern piano in Mozart's concertos, especially in Concerto KV 414. In all Mozart's piano concertos there are elements of the general bass – either general bass figures or simple doubled cello bass. In the second half of the 18th century Mozart himself played his concertos on period Stein and Walter instruments, and there is surviving evidence that he played basso continuo in orchestral tutti. Since Mozart's time, the sound of the piano and the orchestra has changed, and so the question remains whether to play the general bass and how.
