Level of support to seniors in residental care homes and in natural seniors home environment.

Abstract:

Tato teoreticko-aplikační práce je zaměřena na potřeby seniorů v pobytových službách a v domácí péči. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda a jak se liší naplňování potřeb seniorů v těchto dvou formách péče. Na základě zpracování případových studií doplněných o rozhovory se seniorkami a se sociálními pracovnicemi jsem zkoumala, jak jsou v jednotlivých organizacích dané potřeby klientů naplněny. Na základě komparace těchto rozhovorů následně identifikuji, jak se naplňování potřeb liší. První kapitola teoretické časti je zaměřena na vymezení pojmů jako stáří a stárnutí, pomoc a péče a poskytovatelé péče. Další kapitola teoretické části zahrnuje výčet sociálních služeb, které se na péči o seniory podílejí a týkají se mé práce, tedy domovy pro seniory, pečovatelská služba a osobní asistence. Poslední kapitola je pak zaměřena na identifikaci jednotlivých potřeb. Praktická část práce je založena na kvalitativním výzkumu, který se skládá z případových studií jednotlivých seniorů, rozhovorů s nimi a také s pracovníky jednotlivých služeb.

Abstract:

This thesis based on both theoretical and application parts is focused on needs of seniors who live in retirement home and at home. The aim of the thesis is to learn what is the difference of meeting needs in the case of these two ways of the care providing. The application part is based on the case studies processing supplemented by interviews with seniors and with social workers. I will recognize how the needs are met in different institutions. Due to comparision of the interwievs I will find out the differnce of the meeting the needs. The first chapter of the theoretical part is focused on definition of terms related to the topic as the old age and aging, help, care, and care providers. Following chapter is focused on identification of the needs which were compared in the practical part of this thesis. The last theoretical chapter is a list of social services which are provided to seniors and at the same time are related to my thesis, such as residental care homes for seniors, care service and personal assistance service. The practical part of this thesis is based on the qualitative research consisting of the case studies which are extended by interwievs with related seniors and workers of social care.
