Comparison of the presidents role in political systems of Romania and France

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje komparaci role, kterou má hlava státu v rámci semiprezidentského systému ve Francii a Rumunsku. Tyto země byly vybrány jako příklady uplatnění podobného politického systému na dvou naprosto odlišných subjektech. Práce hledá rozdíly mezi nimi nejdříve z teoretické perspektivy. Vychází přitom z vymezení daného ústavami obou zemí. Rozebírá mandáty prezidentů Rumunska a Francie za poslední tři desetiletí, aby na základě získaných poznatků mohla porovnat jejich pozici v praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the role of the head of state within the semipresident system in France and Romania. These countries were selected as examples of the application of a similar political system to two completely different entities. The thesis looks for differences between them first from a theoretical perspective. It is based on the definition given by the constitutions of the two countries. It analyzes mandates of the Romanian and French presidents over the past three decades to compare their position on the basis of the lessons learned.
