Gender stereotypes in kindergarten

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá genderovými stereotypy v mateřské školce. Nabízí přehled témat spojených s genderem, jako jsou stereotypy nebo socializace jedince. Dále krátce pojednává o vývoji genderových teorií. Cílem této práce bylo použitím kvalitativních metod zjistit, zda se takovéto stereotypy v mateřské školce objevují a jak jsou reprodukovány. Především je práce zaměřená na interakci učitelek a dětí, dále na to zda samotné děti mezi sebou tyto stereotypy používají a v neposlední řadě na to, jakou roli v této problematice hrají rodiče.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with gender stereotypes in kindergarten. Offers an overview of topics related with gender as stereotypes and socialization. It also briefly discusses the development of gender theories. Objectives of this work was to use qualitative methods to find out, if these stereotypes appears in kindergarten and how they are reproduced. First of all, I focused on the interaction of teachers and children, second of all, if the children themselves use these stereotypes and, last but not least, on the role played by parents in this issue.
