The resumption of activities of daily life in a patient with detachment of the tendon of the long head of the humeral biceps: clinical case

Abstract:

The rupture of the long head of the homereal biceps consists in the appearance of violent pain, sudden, well located and often accompanied by a noise "elastic type that breaks" with the subsequent appearance of a anterior bump. The injuries can be partial or total without creating serious damage to the action of the joint because its task is still carried out by the short head of the biceps. The mechanisms of injury are numerous. In many cases it is a moment of sudden muscle contraction in traction or compression, such as: collect an object that is falling on the fly, crush a balloon, lifting very heavy loads. An isolated pathology of the long head of the biceps is a fairly infrequent event since it is often associated with other morbid conditions of the shoulder. Diagnosis is predominantly clinical. In addition to the presence of local pain and muscle weakness can associate the appearance of hematoma in the anterior region of the elbow.

Abstract:

La rottura del capo lungo del bicipite omerale consiste nella comparsa di dolore violento, improvviso, ben localizzato e spesso accompagnato da un rumore "tipo elastico che si rompe" con successiva comparsa di una protuberanza anteriore. Le lesioni possono essere parziali o totali, senza creare gravi danni all'azione dell'articolazione perché il suo compito viene comunque svolto dal capo breve del bicipite. I processi di lesione possono essere numerosi. In molti casi si tratta di un momento di contrazione muscolare improvvisa in trazione o in compressione, come ad esempio: raccogliere un oggetto che sta cadendo al volo, schiacciare un pallone, sollevare carichi molto pesanti. Una patologia isolata del capo lungo del bicipite ? un evento abbastanza infrequente poiché ? spesso associata ad altre condizioni morbose della spalla. La diagnosi ? prevalentemente clinica. Oltre alla presenza di dolore locale e debolezza muscolare, si pu? associare la comparsa di ematoma nella regione anteriore del gomito.
