Approach of future parents to breastfeeding

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tím, jaký postoj zaujímají budoucí rodiče ke kojení. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaká je jejich připravenost, úroveň znalostí a emoce, které prožívají ve vztahu ke kojení. Věnuje se také tomu, jak jsou budoucí rodiče připraveni si poradit se základními problémy, které je mohou v tomto období postihnout. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny všeobecné informace ohledně kojení a stručně popsán co vyjadřuje postoj a z jakých částí se skládá. Druhou polovinu teoretické části tvoří praktické informace ohledně poloh při kojení, správného přisátí dítěte k prsu a rovněž jsou zde uvedeny nejčastější problémy během kojení a jejich možná řešení. Praktickou část tvoří polo-strukturované rozhovory s těhotnými ženami a budoucími otci, kteří čekají své první dítě. Z výsledků lze usuzovat, že budoucí rodiče se na období kojení velmi těší. Zároveň se na toto období připravují a mají dobré teoretické znalosti. Bohužel s problémy, které by je mohly potkat, si nedovedou poradit. Tento fakt může mít za následek neúspěchy při kojení a jeho dřívější ukončení.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis deals with approach of future parents to breastefeeding. The aim is to find out what is their preparedness, knowledge and emotions about breastfeeding. It also deals with how future parents are ready to deal with the fundamental problems that may affect this period. The theoretical section provides general information about breastfeeding and briefly describe what is approach and from what part is composed. The second half of the theoretical part consists of practical information about the position during breastfeeding, correct suction of the baby and also there are some common problems during lactation and their possible solutions. The practical part consists of semi-structured interviews with pregnant women and future fathers who are expecting their first child. The results suggest that future parents for the period of breastfeeding are very pleased. Future parents are also preparing for this period and have good theoretical knowledge. Unfortunately, the problems that they could meet, they are not able to deal with. This fact may result in failures during breastfeeding and its early termination.
