Relaxation of authoritarianism in Cuba under Raúl Castro's government

Abstract:

Od nástupu Raúla Castra k moci média pravidelně informují o demokratizaci země. Je však správné aktuální dění označit jako demokratizaci režimu? Tato práce zkoumá změny, ke kterým na Kubě dochází od nástupu Raúla Castra k moci. Cílem práce je potvrdit nebo vyvrátit hypotézu „Za vlády Raúla Castra dochází k uvolňování kubánského režimu a k jeho postupné tranzici.“ V textu jsou nejprve představeny teoretické přístupy vztahující se ke změně režimu. Na základě teorie jsou následně hodnoceny provedené reformy a jejich dopad na možnou změnu režimu.

Abstract:

Since Raúl Castro has became an official leader of Cuba, media regularly inform about democratization of Cuban regime.But is it correct? This thesis examines reforms and changes, witch have come into effect during Raúl Castro´s government. The main aim of the thesis is to confirm or falsify hypothesis: "During Raúl Castro´s government Cuban regime has been coming through liberalization and tranzition proces." The fist part of the thesis introduces various theoretical approaches related to regime transition. On the basis of the theories the reforms and changes are examined.
