Survey into eating habits of high school students

Abstract:

Adolescence je období plné změn jak v biologické, psychologické tak i sociální složce osobnosti. Všechny tyto změny se mohou projevit ve stravování, pitném režimu a pohybové aktivitě adolescentů. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo pomocí dotazníkového šetření zjistit jak se dopoledne stravují studenti prvních ročníků vybraných SOU, SŠ a gymnázií, zda je konzumace snídaně a přesnídávky ovlivněna pohlavím, typem střední školy či tím, kdo tyto jídla chystá. Dále bylo mým cílem posoudit, zda školní bufety a školní automaty ovlivňují stravování a pitný režim studentů a zjistit jaká je pohybová aktivita adolescentů ve volném čase. Výsledky ukázaly, že 82 % adolescentů snídalo a 94 % svačilo. Frekvence konzumace snídaní se lišila v závislosti na typu školy, frekvence konzumace přesnídávek byla u všech adolescentů přibližně stejná. Dívky měly kvalitnější snídaně a přesnídávky oproti chlapcům. Celkově lze však říci, že obě pohlaví, většina dívek tak i většina chlapců, mají nedostatečný příjem ovoce a zeleniny, mléka a mléčných výrobků, celozrnného pečiva a ryb. Pitný režim se mezi dívkami a chlapci lišil, chlapci pili více litrů tekutin denně oproti děvčatům. Denní příjem tekutin u většiny dívek byl tedy nedostačující. Pohybové aktivitě mimo školu se věnovalo 88 % adolescentů. Dívky se pohybovaly více oproti chlapcům. Souhrnně lze však konstatovat, že i když se pohybové aktivitě věnovalo skoro ¾ adolescentů, její frekvence a doba trvání byla u nedostatečná.

Abstract:

The adolescent is the period of changes in biological, psychological and social component of personalities. All these changes are able to demonstrate in feeding, drinking regimen and moving activity of adolescents. In my thesis I investigated by the help of questionnaire what students of the first years of studies in the high school ate for breakfast and snack - if these dishes were influenced genders, the type of the high school or the person who prepared breakfasts and snacks. Further I investigated school buffets and school drinking vending machines - if they inspired the feeding and drinking regimen in adolescents. Also I researched what adolescent's drinking regimen was and how adolescent's moving activity in their free time was. Outcomes showed that 82 % adolescents had breakfast and 94 % had snack. Frequency of breakfasts was different in the type of the high school and frequency of snacks was even lots. Girls were superior breakfasts and snacks than boys. Generally both sexes had inadequate intake of fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy produces, wholegrain pastries and fish. Drinking regimen was different in girls and boys. Boys drank more litres a day than girls so girls were inadequate drinking regimen. 88 % adolescents applied moving activity in their free time, girls moved more than boys. Generally, frequencies and periods of moving activities in their free time were inadequate.
