Prague German literature - the memory of german writing authors in Prague

Abstract:

In my bachelor's thesis, I present important German writing authors of Prague German literature who were members of the so-called Prague Circle back in the 19th and 20th Century. I bring the reader closer to the relationship of these writers to Prague, whether positive or negative or how this relationship influenced their work. In my thesis, I mainly focused on their life in Prague and their works that were influenced not only by Prague but also by their other important works written in German. I tried to analyse their relationship to Prague and how this relationship influenced the creation of memorial plaques or monuments dedicated to them there. My aim was to show the reader that even though they were German authors, this did not diminish their importance to Czech literary history. They made a significant contribution not only to Prague but also to our country. These authors should not be forgotten at any cost.

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci představuji významné německy píšící autory pražské německé literatury, kteří byli členy takzvaného Pražského kruhu již v 19. a 20. století. Přibližuji čtenáři vztah těchto spisovatelů k Praze, ať už pozitivní či negativní, nebo jak tento vztah ovlivnil jejich tvorbu. Ve své práci jsem se zaměřila především na jejich život v Praze a na jejich díla, která byla ovlivněna nejen Prahou, ale i jejich dalšími významnými německy psanými díly. Snažila jsem se analyzovat jejich vztah k Praze a to, jak tento vztah ovlivnil vznik pamětních desek či pomníků, které jim zde byly věnovány. Mým cílem bylo ukázat čtenáři, že i když se jednalo o německy píšící autory, tak ani to neubývalo na jejich důležitosti pro českou literární historii. Přispěli významným dílem nejen Praze ale i celé naší zemi. Tito autoři by neměli za žádnou cenou upadnout v zapomnění.
