Application of the MMABP Methodology to determine the Functionalities of Information System of the Language School

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje specifikaci funkčních požadavků na informační systém pro jazykovou školu na základě procesní analýzy za využití metodiky MMABP. Zároveň je v rámci práce uvedeno řešení aplikované na základě metodiky konkrétní řešitelské společnosti, jež měla na starosti samotný vývoj softwarového řešení. Oba tyto přístupy jsou navzájem komparovány. Hlavními cíli této práce jsou: aplikace metodiky MMABP na konkrétní projekt ve smyslu získání a definování požadavků na funkcionalitu budoucího individuálního informačního systému a porovnání výsledků získaných za pomoci metodiky MMABP s metodikou aplikovanou v rámci řešitelské společnosti. Vedlejším cílem této diplomové práce je porovnání Use Case diagramu (diagram případů užití) s Data-flow diagramem (diagram datových toků).Práce jako taková je rozdělena do několika klíčových kapitol. Teoretická část pokrývá problematiku a pojmy vztahující se k vývoji informačních systémů, podnikovým procesům, jejich modelování a metodice MMABP. Dále je v rámci této části práce stručně představena zadavatelská i řešitelská společnost. Tyto společnosti jsou stručně představeny ve vztahu k předmětu své podnikatelské činnosti a v případě zadavatele i současnému stavu informačního systému. Konkrétní názvy společností a jednotlivých zainteresovaných osob jsou však anonymizovány. Tato část práce obsahuje dále řešení předmětu této diplomové práce na základě přístupu řešitelské společnosti.Praktická část obsahuje řešení dle metodiky MMABP a diskusi výsledků získaných aplikací této metodiky s výsledky přístupu aplikovaného v rámci řešitelské společnosti.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with specification of functional requirements of information system for language school based on process analysis using MMABP methodology. At the same time, the thesis introduces the solution based on the methodology of the company solving this project, which is responsible for the development of the software solution. These approaches are compared with each other. The main objectives of this diploma thesis are to apply the MMABP methodology to a specific project in terms of obtaining and defining the functional requirements of the future information system and comparing the results obtained using the MMABP methodology to the methodology by the project solving company. The secondary goal of this thesis is to compare Use Case diagram with Data-flow diagram.The thesis itself is divided into several key chapters. The theoretical part covers topics of information systems development, business processes, their modeling and the MMABP methodology. Furthermore, both companies that are interested in the project are introduced briefly in this part of the thesis. These companies are briefly presented in relation to the subject of their business activities and, in the case of the project sponsor authority, the current state of the information system. However, the specific names of companies and individual stakeholders are being anonymized. This part of the thesis also includes the solution of the subject of this thesis based on the approach of the solving company.The practical part contains the solution according to the MMABP methodology and the discussion of the results obtained by the application of the MMABP methodology with the results of the approach applied within the solving company.
