Oil trade with a focus on the USA

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat současnou situaci okolo ropy, jedné z nejdůležitějších a také nejobchodovanějších komodit, se zaměřením na situaci ropného sektoru ve Spojených státech amerických spolu s předpokládaným budoucím vývojem ropného sektoru v USA i ve světě. K vykreslení současné situace a předpokládaných vývojových tendencí jsem vycházel ze sekundárních zdrojů dat významných informačních agentur a společností z energetického či přímo ropného sektoru. Na základě výsledků této práce je patrné, že v posledních letech dochází ke změnám geografie těžby ropy, struktury spotřeby či hledání alternativ ve spotřebě ropy. Všechny tyto a některé další faktory, jako např. zvyšující se spotřeba, se budou dle prognóz projevovat i se svými důsledky v následujících desetiletích.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current situation of oil, one of the most important and also the most traded commodities, focusing on the situation of the oil sector in the United States, together with the expected future development of the oil sector in the US and around the world. I have used secondary data sources of relevant information agencies and companies in the energy or oil sector to illustrate the current situation and expected trends in the oil sector. Results of this study show that there have been changes in the oil production geography, oil consumption structure and in search for alternatives in the oil consumption in the recent years. All these and some other factors, such as increasing consumption levels, are believed to take place in the upcoming decades.
