Abstract:
The main target of my work is to find elements of the Caribbean in two literary works of Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier: ?Écue-Yamba-O! (Praised Be the Lord) and El reino de este mundo (The Kingdom of this world). In the first part of my work I concentrate on Alejo Carpentier himself, his life and his writing. Hlavním cílem mé práce je najít prvky Karibiku ve dvou dílech kubánského spisovatele Aleja Carpentiera: ?Écue-Yamba-O! (Pochválen budiž tvůrce) a El reino de este mundo (Království z tohoto světa). V první části práce se zaměřím na Aleja Carpentiera, na jeho život i tvorbu. V této části se budu zabývat také Karibskou oblastí, zejména tedy popisem karibské kultury.
