Application of diffuse reflectance spectra to the characterization of solid ZnS and ZnO based catalysts and the photocatalysts supported on thin films

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na měření difúzně reflexních spekter pevných materiálů. Teoretická část bakalářské práce je zaměřena na popis DR UV-vis spektrofotometru a potenciál jeho využití k charakterizaci pevných katalyzátorů. Jako modelové systémy pro experimentální část bakalářské práce byly zvoleny pevné materiály na bázi ZnS/ZnO a pevné materiály na bázi TiO2 nanesené na tenkých vrstvách. Oba případy představují specifické využití DRS. V případě TiO2 fotokatalyzátoru naneseného v tenké vrstvě na skleněný materiál je diskutována možnost charakterizace tenkého TiO2 filmu s ohledem na mnohem častější charakterizaci pevného TiO2 materiálu umístěného v křemenné kyvetě. V případě materiálů na bázi ZnS/ZnO jde o zhodnocení výpočtu velikosti nanočástic ZnS/ZnO z hodnoty energie hrany získané z DR spektra pevného materiálu.

Abstract:

Bachelor work is focused on the measuring the diffuse reflectance spectra of solid materials. The theoretical part of this work is focused on the description of DR UV-vis spectrophotometer and its potential use for the characterization of solid catalysts. Solid ZnS/ZnO based materials and solid materials based on TiO2 thin layer deposited on glass material were selected as model systems for the experimental part of thesis. Both cases represent the specific use of DRS. In the case of TiO2 photocatalyst deposited in a thin layeron the glassmaterial, the possibility of its characterization is discussed with respect to more frequent characterization of solid TiO2 material placed in a quartz cuvette. In the case of ZnS/ZnO materials, there is discussed the possibility of the calculation of the size ZnS/ZnO nanoparticles based on band gap energy.
