Comparison of the process of religious deculturalization taking place within the Uighur minority in the People's Republic of China with examples from modern history

Abstract:

Tato práce zkoumá genocidní praktiky Čínské lidové republiky (ČLR) vůči ujgurské menšině v provincii Sin-ťiang. Pomocí komparativní analýzy s dvěma případy z moderní historie, holocaustem a internací japonských Američanů během druhé světové války, se práce zaměřuje na to, zda genocidní praktiky ČLR splňují Stantonových deset fází genocidy. Práce ukazuje, že prostřednictvím masových internačních táborů, násilných reedukačních programů, kontroly porodnosti a rozsáhlého dohledu a špehování ČLR systematicky potlačuje ujgurskou kulturu a identitu. Závěry práce ukazují, že ČLR vytvořila prostředí, které naplňuje všechna kritéria pro označení těchto událostí jako genocidy. Ujgurové jsou systematicky dehumanizováni a eliminováni, což vyžaduje okamžitou mezinárodní akci pro ochranu lidských práv a zastavení utrpení této menšiny.

Abstract:

This paper examines the genocidal practices of the People's Republic of China (PRC) against the Uighur minority in Xinjiang province. Using a comparative analysis with two cases from modern history, the Holocaust and the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, the thesis focuses on whether the PRC's genocidal practices meet Stanton's ten stages of genocide. The thesis shows that through mass internment camps, forced re-education programs, birth control, and extensive surveillance and spying, the PRC systematically suppressed Uyghur culture and identity. The paper's conclusions show that the PRC has created an environment that meets all the criteria for labeling these events as genocide. The Uyghurs are being systematically dehumanized and eliminated, requiring immediate international action to protect human rights and end the suffering of this minority.
