Abstract:

Tato práce s názvem Srovnání prvního a čtvrtého vydání učebnice angličtiny English File: Analýza vývoje se zabývá rolí učebnice ve výuce anglického jazyka, důležitostí procesu evaluace učebnic za účelem výběru vhodných materiálů pro výuku anglického jazyka a vlastní evaluací prvního a čtvrtého vydání vybrané učebnice angličtiny. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na teorii použití učebnic pro výuku anglického jazyka, procesem evaluace učebnic a představením různých přístupů a kritérií evaluace. Praktická část srovnává a analyzuje první a poslední vydání učebnice angličtiny s názvem English File za využití poznatků získaných v teoretické části, především checklistu, který byl vytvořen pro účely této práce. Cílem práce je ukázat, jak se tato dvě vydání od sebe liší a jak se samotná učebnice vyvinula od jejího prvního vydání.

Abstract:

The thesis "Comparison of the first and the fourth editions of English File coursebook: Analysis of development" deals with the role of coursebooks in English language teaching (ELT), the importance of the coursebook evaluation process in order to choose the appropriate materials for ELT classes, and the actual evaluation of the first and the latest edition of a selected ELT coursebook. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part focuses on the theory of the use of coursebooks in ELT and the coursebook evaluation process, introducing various approaches and criteria of evaluation. The practical part uses the gathered knowledge to compare and analyse the first and the latest edition of English File coursebook according to a checklist which was developed for the purpose of this thesis. The aim of the thesis is to show how the two editions differ, and how the coursebook itself has developed since the first edition was published.
