Therapeutics techniques and activities among seniors with Alzheimer disease

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice Alzheimerovy choroby. V teoretické části objasňuje obecnou charakteristiku stáří a demence, blíže popisuje historii onemocnění, symptomy, epidemiologii, rizikové faktory, patofyziologii, diagnostiku a léčbu. Nakonec se zabývá popisem terapeutických technik a aktivit u seniorů s touto diagnózou. Praktická část se věnuje kvalitativnímu výzkumu, který probíhal v Alzheimercentru Ostrava za pomocí rozhovorů s konkrétními klienty, nebo jejich rodinami, formou tří kazuistik. Byla odebrána anamnéza, katamnéza, následně byl popsán fyzický i psychický stav klienta při příchodu do zařízení a nakonec byla naplánována a zrealizována vhodná aktivizační terapie, kdy její účinek je zhodnocen ve výsledcích práce. Cílem bakalářské práce byla analýza a popis případu u tří klientů s různou formou Alzheimerovy demence a zhodnocení vlivu podpůrných terapií při příchodu do zařízení a následně po roce hospitalizace. V závěru práce jsou uvedena doporučení pro praxi, výstup bakalářské práce a jsou zhodnoceny stanovené cíle.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on Alzheimer's disease. In the theoretical part it explains the general characteristics of old age and dementia, describes the history of the disease, symptoms, epidemiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment. It concludes by describing therapeutic techniques and activities for the elderly with this diagnosis. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research conducted at the Alzheimer Centre Ostrava in the form of interviews with specific clients, or their families, in the form of three case studies. The anamnesis and cathamnesis were taken, the physical and psychological state of the client on admission to the facility was described and finally appropriate activation therapy was planned and implemented, the effect of which is evaluated in the results of the thesis. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to analyze and describe the case of three clients with different forms of Alzheimer's dementia and to evaluate the effect of supportive therapy on admission to the facility and subsequently after one year of hospitalization. The thesis concludes with recommendations for practice, the outcomes of the bachelor thesis and an evaluation of the objectives.
