Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem a analýzou jedné kapitoly z novely Pan Kaplan má třídu rád podle Leonarda Calvina Rostena. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do tří částí, které zahrnují úvod, praktickou a teoretickou část. V úvodu se čtenář dozví informace o autorovi textu a o překladateli, jehož překlad je použit k porovnání mého vlastního překladu, jímž se zabývá druhá, praktická část. V praktické části se soustředím na překlad kapitoly Mr. K*A*P*L*A*N*’s Hobo, ze kterého vycházím a analyzuji jej v části teoretické. Tato se vypořádává s lexikálními i pragmatickými vlastnostmi překladu v porovnání s českou verzí překladu podle Pavla Eisnera.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the translation and analysis of one chapter from the novel The Education of H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N by an American author Leo Calvin Rosten. The thesis is divided into three main parts, including the introduction, the practical part and the theoretical part. In the introduction part can the readership get information about author of the text and translator to whom I was comparing my own translation that is written in the second, practical part. The practical part focuses on the translation of the chapter Mr. K*A*P*L*A*N*’s Hobo and some features of the text are discussed and analysed in the last, theoretical part. The theoretical part deals with the lexical and pragmatic features of the text compared with the Czech translation created by Pavel Eisner.
