Abstract:

Blogy jsou velmi populárním a rozšířeným typem webových stránek a spolu s dalšími službami Webu 2.0 poskytují snadno použitelný prostředek publikování informací pro kteréhokoliv uživatele Internetu. Práce začíná uvedením blogů, jaké výhody nabízejí a jak se podílejí na informační revoluci, kterou právě zažíváme. Navíc také existuje řada pokusů, jak využít blogy ve výuce, což je popsáno v jedné z kapitol. Pro učitele je pak důležité dozvědět se, jak se blogosféra (příspěvky, komentáře, vazby mezi bloggery) vyvíjejí v čase. Vhodná aplikace pro vizualizaci blogosféry by mohla být velmi užitečná. Práce popisuje jak vyvinout takovou aplikaci, která bude parsovat serverové logy (pokud jsou dostupné) a RSS/Atom zdroje. Extrahované informace následně vizualizuje v síťovém grafu návštěv a zobrazí příspěvky a komentáře na předem určené množině bloggerů.

Abstract:

Blogs are very popular and widespread type of websites that can be found on the World Wide Web. Along with other services of Web 2.0, they provide easy to use means of content publishing for any user of the Internet. The thesis begins with introducing blogs, what benefits they offer, and how they have contributed to the information revolution we are currently experiencing. Moreover, there are many attempts to utilize blogs in education, which is also discussed in one of the chapters. For teachers, it is important to understand how the blogosphere (blog entries, comments, connections between learners) evolves over time. A convenient application for blogosphere visualization might be very helpful. The thesis describes how to develop such an application that parses server logs (if available) and RSS/Atom feeds, extracts temporal information, and visualizes the network of visits, links between blogs, postings, and comments within a given set of bloggers.
