Abstract:

The aim of this Thesis is to show the image of the jazzman in contemporary french novel. In the novels by T. Viel, E. Cormann, Ch. Gailly and P. Quignard we analyze the theme of vices typically attributed to jazz musicians, the jazz as an expression of protest, the importance of musical models and the stereotype od the exceptional talent of the musicians and we point out the paradox between the joyful character of the jazz music and the unhappy fate of the interpreters.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je ukázat, jaký obraz jazzmana podává současný francouzský román. V dílech T. Viela, E. Cormanna, Ch. Gaillyho a P. Quignarda analyzujeme téma neřestí typicky přisuzovaných jazzovým hudebníkům, jazz jako výraz odporu, důležitost hudebních vzorů a stereotyp hudební geniality a poukazujeme na paradox mezi radostným rázem jazzu a nešťastným osudem interpretů.
