Habitatové a potravní nároky bryofágních motýlů (Lepidoptera: Pyraloidea)

Habitat and trophic preferences of bryophagous lepidopterans

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřená na bryofágní (mechožravé) zástupce motýlů, zejména pak z nadčeledi Pyraloidea. Předchozí bakalářská práce ukázala, že na území Střední Evropy se vykytuje 49 bryofágních druhů z nadčeledi Pyraloidea a další druhy z nadčeledi Gelechoidea. Na 40 lokalitách proběhlo odebrání vzorků mechů z celkem 600 namátkově vybraných kvadrátů o velikosti 0,25 m2. U každého kvadrátu byly určeny druhy vyskytujících se mechů a pomocí manuální probírky odebírány larvy bryofágních motýlů, dalšího bryofágního hmyzu a ostatních bryobiontních členovců. Kromě toho jsme vzorky v následujících týdnech opakovaně kontrolovali, abychom započetli přehlédnuté a také nově vylíhnuté či vykuklené jedince. Celkově jsme odchytili 268 larev bryofágních motýlů, ze kterých se nám podařilo odchovat do dospělosti 106 jedinců. Ukázalo se, že housenky bryofágních motýlů dosahují největších hustot v březnu a preferují zejména mechy rodu Dicranella, Pohlia a Ceratodon. Srovnání s literaturou ukazuje, že neexistuje korelace mezi hustotou larev a počtem druhů motýlů asociovaných s daným rodem mechorostu. Larvy bryofágních motýlů preferují zejména mechy s kolonistickou životní strategií a s tolerancí ke slabě acidofilnímu prostředí. Výsledky přinášejí exaktnější náhled na habitatové preference bryofágních motýlů a ukazují, že jejich hustoty mohou být v meších značně rozdílné. Protože se změnou klimatu se mění zastoupení jednotlivých mechorostů, mohou mít tyto změny vliv na abundance zkoumané skupiny živočichů.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on bryophagous (moss eating) representatives of Lepidoptera, especially from the superfamily Pyraloidea. The previous bachelor's thesis showed that 49 bryophagous species from the superfamily Pyraloidea and other species from the superfamily Gelechoidea occur in Central Europe. Samples were taken from 40 localities from a total of 600 randomly selected quadrates with a size of 0.25 m2. For each quadrate, the species of mosses were determined and larvae of bryophagous butterflies, other bryophagous insects and other bryobiont arthropods were sampled by manual screening. In addition, we repeatedly checked samples in the following weeks to account for overlooked as well as newly hatched or emerged individuals. We captured a total of 268 larvae of bryophagous butterflies, of which we reared 106 adults. It has been shown that caterpillars of bryophagous butterflies reach the highest densities in March and prefer mosses of the genera Dicranella, Pohlia and Ceratodon. A comparison with the literature shows that there is no correlation between larval density and the number of bryophagous Lepidoptera species associated with a given bryophyte genus. Larvae of bryophagous Lepidoptera prefer especially mosses with a colonist life strategy and tolerance to weakly acidophilic conditions. The results provide a more accurate view of the habitat preferences of bryophagous Lepidoptera and show that their densities can vary considerably among moss genera. As the proportion of individual bryophytes changes with climate change, these changes may have an impact on abundance of the studied group of animals.
