Mothers’ perspective on cohabitation

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vnímáním nesezdaného soužití matkami, konkrétně ženami žijícími s otcem svého dítěte v této formě partnerského vztahu. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a empirickou. V teoretické části nejprve popisuji rodinu, její typy, funkce a v neposlední řadě také její proměnu podloženou demografickými daty. Krátce je v první kapitole nastíněna i rodinná politika České republiky. Druhá kapitola se orientuje na partnerské vztahy, přičemž je zaměřena především na nesezdané soužití a manželství. V poslední kapitole je rozebráno rodičovství, jelikož s tématem úzce souvisí. Empirická část práce obsahuje metodologii výzkumu, interpretaci získaných dat a je ukončena shrnutím s diskuzí. Tato část si kladla za cíl zodpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku, a to: „Jak matky vnímají nesezdané soužití s partnerem?“ Odpověď na tuto otázku je možno najít v závěru práce.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the perception of cohabitation by mothers, namely women living with the father of her child in this form of relationship. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part, I first describe the family, its types, functions, and last but not least its transformation based on demographic data. In short, the family policy of the Czech Republic is outlined in the first chapter. The second chapter focuses on partnership, focusing on unmarried cohabitation and marriage. The last chapter discusses parenthood, as it is closely related to the topic. The empirical part of the thesis contains the methodology of research, the interpretation of the obtained data and is concluded with a summary with the discussion. This part aimed at answering the main research question, namely: "How do mothers perceive cohabitation with a partner?" The answer to this question can be found at the end of the thesis.
