Quality of Life in Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na kvalitu života pacientů s diagnózou ankylozující spondylitida. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit kvalitu života těchto pacientů, zejména ve fyzické, psychické, pracovní a sociální oblasti. Řešení práce je postaveno na kvantitativním výzkumném šetření prostřednictvím standardizovaného dotazníku SF 36 health survey questionnaire a dotazníku BASDAI. Dotazníky byly navíc doplněny o otázky konstruované autorkou práce k získání potřebných dat a následnému vyhodnocení kvality života pacientů s touto nemocí. Sběr dat byl proveden v pěti revmatologických ordinacích. Z výzkumného šetření vyplynulo, že pacienti s touto nemocí mají sníženou kvalitu života ve všech daných oblastech. Bylo i zjištěno, že aktivita onemocnění je vyšší u žen než u mužů a také to, že manuální typ práce má značný vliv na zvyšování aktivity onemocnění než povolání intelektuálního typu. Na tyto oblasti byl navržen návrh do praxe (zvýšení edukace všeobecných sester k pacientům s ankylozující spondylitidou, propagace Klubu bechtěreviků a informační leták na téma "Tipy, jak zlepšit fyzickou kondici: Pro pacienty s Bechtěrevovou nemocí").

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the quality of life of patients diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. The aim of the thesis was to assess the quality of life of these patients, especially in its physical, psychic, working and social area. Solution to the bachelor thesis is based on quantitative research survey through a standardized SF 36 health survey questionnaire and BASDAI questionnaire. The questionnaires were completed with questions designed and intended by the author of the thesis in order to collect data necessary for the following evaluation of the quality of life of the patients with this disease. The data collection was carried out in five rheumatological surgeries. The quantitative research survey revealed that patients with this disease have a reduced quality of their life in the all mentioned areas. It was also found out that incidence of this disease is higher with women than with men. Furhter, manual labor enormously influences increase in the disease activity than mental professions do. A concept for the mentioned areas was put into practice (higher education for general nurses in relation to patients with ankylosing spondylitis, Becht?rev´s disease, promotion of Club of Becht?reviks of the Czech Republic zs and information leaflet on the issue of "Advice how to improve physical condition: For patients with Becht?rev´s disease").
