Contemporary architecture in aesthetic education: Documentary film as a means of linking art education with cross-cutting themes of Framework educational program for secondary school

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi výuky současné architektury v estetické výchově a dokumentárním filmem jako prostředkem propojení vybraných průřezových témat RVP G s tématy současné architektury. Problematiku sleduje skrze úvodní definování vlastního pojímání estetické výchovy a situace výuky architektury na střední škole. Na tomto místě obhajuje důležitost úlohy současné architektury pro kvalitu našeho prostředí. Teoretická část mapuje aktivity mimoškolních iniciativ, které se snaží o vyšší osvětu a implementaci výuky o architektuře na všechny vzdělávací stupně. Práce upozorňuje na aktuální témata současné architektury a jejich souvislost s vybranými průřezovými tématy. Zde vyzdvihuje dokumentární film jako ideální prostředek esteticko-výchovných snah. Další část práce prezentuje vybrané dokumentární filmy a odůvodňuje jejich vztah k tématu současné architektury. Závěrečná část se soustředí na přenesení teoretických východisek práce při tvorbě vlastních lekcí o současné architektuře, které se soustředí na témata „Architektura a globalizace“, „Architektura a veřejný prostor“ a „Zelená architektura“.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of teaching the contemporary architecture in aesthetic education and the documentary film as a mean of connecting specific cross-section topics with the topics of contemporary architecture. These issues are observed through introductory definition of aesthetic education and situation of teaching architecture at high schools. At this point, the thesis defends the importance of the contemporary architecture for the quality of our environment. The theoretical part surveys the activities of third parties that aim for the implementation of teaching architecture on all educational levels. The thesis draws attention to the current issues of contemporary architecture and its relationship with the selected cross-connected themes. Here, the documentary is considered as an ideal mean of aesthetic and educational efforts. The next part presents selected documentaries and justifies their relationship to the topic of contemporary architecture. The final part applies theoretical foundation to creating own lessons about contemporary architecture. These lessons focus on the topics "Architecture and globalization", "Architecture and Public Space" and "Green Architecture".
