Abstract:

Geografie od druhé poloviny 20. století intenzivně studuje vnímání a poznání okolního světa. Zkoumá vnitřní představy, obrazy, které si lidé o svém okolí vytváří. Předložená práce se tak zabývá tvorbou obrazu městského prostředí. V první části se soustředí na stručný přehled teoretických východisek a přístupů. V druhé části se pomocí kvalitativních metod snaží odhalit jednotlivé elementy, které tvoří subjektivní obraz zvoleného prostředí města Brna. Zabývá se také důvodem jejich přítomnosti v daném obraze. Snaží se i zhodnotit vhodnost použitých metod.

Abstract:

Since the second half of the 20th century geography has been studying perception and cognition of the surrounding world intensely. It became concerned with mental representations and images of the environment formulated in people's mind. This thesis deals with the process of image formulation, focused on urban environment. The first part of the thesis investigates theoretical foundations and approaches. In the second part, the text identifies specific elements of subjective images of chosen parts in the city of Brno. The reasons for repeated occurrence of found elements are also investigated. Finally, methods used in the research are evaluated.
