Abstract:

Hlavním cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit vliv mikrofinancí na Ghanskou ekonomiku v období mezi lety 2009 až 2018. K dosažení výsledků studie byly realizovány dva hlavní analytické postupy. Prvním krokem bylo stanovení vztahu mezi mikrofinancemi a tradičním bankovním systémem. Toho bylo dosaženo stanovením křížové elasticity poptávky mezi poptávkou po mikrofinačních službách a komerčními úrokovými sazbami tradičních bank. Druhým krokem výzkumu byla regresní analýza využívající metodu vícenásobné regrese k určení vlivu mikrofinančních aktiv a průměrných úrokových sazeb na růst finančního sektoru. Výzkum odhalil, že vztah mezi mikrofinančním a tradičním bankovnictvím byl proměnlivý, to znamená někdy komplementárníí a jindy konkurenční. Mikrofinanční služby byly v konkurenční pozici pouze v případě, když poskytovaly úvěry, ale jakmile se zaměřily více na investice, zhoršila se jejich konkurenční pozici a jejich vztah k bankám začal být komplementárním. Bylo zjištěno, že inflace, spíše než aktiva změny mikrofinancování, úroková sazba úvěru a závazek mikrofinancování, byla významná ve vztahu ke změnám aktiv ve finančním sektoru. Zvýšení inflace vyvolává negativní růst aktiv ve finančním sektoru a naopak. Studie také zjistila, že čisté jmění nejen mikrofinancování, ale mnoho institucí finančního sektoru bylo v deficitu, což znamená, že akumulovaly více dluhu než kapitál.Studie doporučuje promyšlenější politické zásahy, stimulaci a dohled, aby se podpořil hospodářský růst. Přísný dohled k zajištění vyváženějšího listu nejen pro mikrofinancování, ale i pro další instituce finančního sektoru, aby rostly více aktiv, než aby akumulovaly více dluhů.

Abstract:

The main purpose of the thesis was to determine the impact of microfinance on the Ghanaian economy for the period covering 2009 to 2018. To achieve the objectives of the study two main steps were used for the analyses. The first step involved establishing the relationship between Microfinance and traditional banking system. This was done through the determination of the cross elasticity of demand between the demand for microfinance service and the commercial lending rates of traditional banks. The second step of the research involved regression analysis using multiple regression method to determine the impact of microfinance assets and the average interest rate on the financial sector growth. The research discovered that the relationship between microfinance and normal banking was fluid, that is, sometimes complementary other times competitive. Microfinance were only in a competitive position when they were giving out loans but once they increased investments, they lost that competitive edge and started to share a complementary relationship with banks. It was discovered that inflation, rather than of Microfinance change assets, lending rate, and Microfinance liability, was significant in relationship to changes in assets in the financial sector. An increase in inflation induces a negative asset growth in the financial sector and vice versa. The study also found out that net-worth of not just Microfinance but many of the financial sector institutions was in deficit which means they were accumulating more debt than equity. The study recommends more deliberate policy intervention, stimulation, and supervision to boost economic growth. Strict supervision to ensure a more balanced sheet for not just Microfinance but also other financial sector institutions to grow more asset rather than accumulate more debt.
