Student portfolio and its application by teacher in lessons of basic sciences

Abstract:

V posledních letech prochází český vzdělávací systém řadou změn. Tyto změny lze také pozorovat v závislosti k přírodovědnému vzdělávání. Předkládaná diplomová práce je věnována hledání možností pro aplikování portfolia v předmětu prvouka. Autorka v teoretické části pojem portfolio charakterizuje i analyzuje z různých koncepčních hledisek. Ve výzkumné části se soustřeďuje na popsání reality ve školách, resp. v třídách a sleduje, jak se žákovské portfolio používá na hodinách prvouky, a jak s ním učitelé umí pracovat. Součástí diplomové práce je také prezentace výsledků výzkumu, který byl realizován prostřednictvím kvalitativního designu na základě obsahové analýzy deseti portfolií a pomocí rozhovorů s učitelkami, které portfolia při didaktických strategiích používají. K zajímavým zjištěním výzkumu patří, že portfolio je v praxi využíváno k poznání sebe sama a že může také obsahovat i slovní hodnocení. V závěru práce jsou překládány limity a diskuse výzkumu.

Abstract:

In recent years the Czech education system has undergone a number of changes. These changes can also be observed in relation to natural sciences education. This presented diploma thesis deals with the search for options for the portfolio application in the subject of Elementary Science and Social Studies. In the theoretical part, the author analyses the concept of portfolio from various conceptual aspects. In the research part, the thesis focuses on describing the real situation at schools, or in the classrooms, and monitors the use of pupils´ portfolio during the Elementary Science and Social Studies lessons and the method of its use by the teachers. This diploma thesis also presents the results of the research carried out through quantitative design being based on the content analysis of ten portfolios and through interviews with teachers involving the portfolios in their didactic strategies. One of the interesting findings of the research is that the portfolio is used self-knowledge practice and that verbal evaluation can also be included. The limits and discussions of the research are submitted at the conclusion of the thesis.
