The political system of the selected current undemocratic country - comparison of the government of Fidel and Raul Castro in Cuba.

Abstract:

Moje práce se zabývá komparací dvou bratrů, která má podat určitý obraz srovnání dvou vlád vůdců Kuby. Tento ostrov představuje jediný případ komunistické země na americkém kontinentě a jediný případ socialistické země, kde se moci nechopila komunistická strana, nýbrž muž, kterému se podařilo ovládnout na skoro 50 let celou Kubu. V roce 2008 došlo ke změně. Kvůli zdravotnímu stavu byl Fidel nucen předat svou moc svému bratru Raúlu. Raúl převzal funkci svého bratra v době, kdy země byla ve velmi špatném stavu a systém je zcela vysílen. Úpadek systému byl zapříčen rozpadem Sovětského stavu, který dlouhá léta významně finančně podporoval Kubu, a také Fidelovým rozhodováním o chodu země. Raúl je ale oproti svému bratru mnohem praktičtější a realističtější. Uvědomuje si, že země je v tragickém stavu, ekonomika je beznadějně neproduktivní a stát nemůže už dále platit za paternalistický sociální systém, který zavedl Fidel. Raúl ví, že je potřeba provést řadu změn, aby stabilizoval socialistickou Kubu. Také chápe, že 50 let trvající americké obchodní embargo je velkou zátěží pro Kubu a že spolupráce s USA by byla pro Kubu jen přínosem, o čemž Fidel nikdy nepřemýšlel, jelikož USA byly jeho hlavním nepřítelem a vždy bojoval proti americkému imperialismu. Dnes je Fidel buď oslavovaným hrdinou nebo odsuzovaným diktátorem. Kuba je i dnes za vlády Raúla stále diktaturou. I když Raúlovy reformy jdou mnohem dál, než kdy byl Fidel schopen zajít. Témata změn se točí spíše okolo ekonomických reforem, což zakrývá debety o těch politických. Základní práva jako právo na shromažďování, svobodný projev, právo na sdružování, vycestování ze země jsou na Kubě bezvýznamná.

Abstract:

My work deals with the comparison of two brothers to submit a picture of comparison of the two leaders of the governments of Cuba. This island is the only example of communist country in the Americas and the only one case of socialist country, where the power was not taken by the Communist Party, but by a man who has managed to dominate for almost 50 years on the whole Cuba. In 2008 there was a change. Due to the state of health of Fidel he was forced to hand over his power to his brother Raúl. Raúl took over as his brother at a time when the country was in a very bad condition and the system was completely exhausted. The decline was caused by the collapse of the Soviet state, which for many years financially supported Cuba and Fidel´s decisions about running the country. In comparasion to his brother, Raúl is much more practical and realistic. He realizes that the country is in a tragic state of the economy, which is hopelessly unproductive and State can no longer pay for the paternalistic social system which was advocated by Fidel. Raúl knows that it is necessary to make a number of changes to stabilize socialist Cuba. Also understand that the U.S. commercial embargo, which was imposed on Cuba 50 years ago is a heavy burden for Cuba and that cooperation with the U.S. would be a benefit for Cuba. There is difference between Raúl and Fidel, because Fidel understood the U.S. as its main enemy and always fought against U.S. imperialism. Today is celebrated Fidel either hero or rejected as a bad dictator. Cuba is today under the reign of Raúl still a dictatorship. Although Raúl´s reforms go much farther than when Fidel was able to go. Topics of changes are more focused on economic reforms, which covers the debates about the policy. Basic rights such as the right to assembly, free speech, the right to association, to leave the country are still insignificant in Cuba.
