The thesis focuses on the forms and transformations of female characters in fantasy literature by J. R. R. R. Tolkien, A. Sapkowski and G. R. R. Martin, with a focus on their representation and function within fictional worlds and narratives. A theoretical outline of the fantasy genre and the theory of the literary character is followed by the presentation of a typology of selected female characters …more
