Abstract:

Živé ploty představují na sledovaném území významné krajinné prvky, jsou pro toto území charakteristické a zastávají zde množství funkcí ať už tradičních, jako je vytváření hranic pozemků a zdroj plodů, nebo ekologické funkce v krajině, jako jsou ochrana proti půdní erozi, větrolamy, útočiště pro rostlinné a živočišné druhy, až po estetickou úlohu. Přes množství důležitých funkcí a vlivů v krajině dochází převážně díky zanedbávání jejich údržby i díky intenzifikaci v zemědělství a přeměně pastvin na obdělávaná pole k jejich značnému úbytku. Na základě provedeného terénního výzkumu na dvou velmi málo vzdálených lokalitách v Jihozápadní Anglii a lokalitě s odlišným typem živého plotu v Českém středohoří lze při sledování a porovnávání zjištěných charakteristik některé jejich funkce a vlivy na krajinu odhalit a zároveň zjistit, co má vliv na utváření struktury samotného živého plotu a na zdejší zastoupení flóry a fauny. Vybrané charakteristiky a skutečnosti jsou dokumentovány vlastními fotografiemi ze sledovaných území.

Abstract:

Hedgerows represent significant lanscape elements in the observed area, they are characteristic for this area and stand for a lot of either traditional functions such as making field boundaries and source of products; or ecological functions in landscape, such as soil erosion protection, shelterbelts and habitats; last but nost least is the aesthetic function. Despite the amount of important functions and influences in landscape, their number decreases because of maintenace neglect and itensified agriculuture, when pastures are modified into arable feields. On the basis of the accomplished field research in two not very distant localities in South West England and a locality with a different type of hedgerow in České středohoří, when observing and comparing researched characteristics, we can discover some of their functions and influences on landscape; and at the same time, we can find out what influences structure forming of a hedgerow itself and its species distribution. My own photographs from the areas observed document selected characteristics and facts.
