Supersymmetry in TTbar deformed theories

Abstract:

V této práci studujeme vztah mezi TTbar-deformacemi (integrabilitu-zachovávajícími deformacemi kvantových teorií pole ve dvou dimenziích) a porušenými symetriemi, zejména supersymetrií. S využitím přístupu Komargodského a Seiberga, a metod nelineární realizace, spočteme lagrangiány pro spontánně porušenou supersymetrii typu (1,1) a (2,2). Pak dokážeme, že (1,1)-případ je řešením obecné TTbar-deformační rovnice a ukážeme, že v tomto případě lze nelineárně realizovanou supersymetrii vidět jako zdeformovanou fermionickou posunovací symetrii původní teorie pro volný fermion s kosmologickou konstantou. Nakonec představíme nový přístup k TTbar-deformacím využívající repéry a demonstrujeme ho na případě volné bosonické teorie, kde jako řešení dostaneme Nambuův-Gotův lagrangián. Tento výsledek zrekonstruujeme pomocí Volkovovi-Akulovovi kosetové procedury, čímž ho zasadíme do kontextu porušených symetrií. Celkově naše výsledky silně poukazují na existenci obecného spojení mezi nelineární realizací a TTbar-deformací.

Abstract:

This thesis studies the relation between TTbar-deformations (integrability-preserving deformations of quantum field theories in two dimensions) and broken symmetries, in particular the broken supersymmetry. Using the Komargodski-Seiberg approach, as well as methods of non-linear realizations, we calculate Lagrangians for spontaneously broken SUSY of type (1,1) and (2,2). Then we prove that the (1,1)-case satisfies the general TTbar-deformation equation. We also discover that in these cases the non-linearly realized supersymmetry can be seen as the deformed fermionic shift symmetry of the original theory of a free fermion with a cosmological constant. Finally, we introduce a new aproach to TTbar-deformations using vielbeins, which we demonstrate in the case of a free bosonic theory, obtaining the Nambu-Goto Lagrangian. We then reconstruct this result using the Volkov-Akulov coset contruction, placing the deformed scalar theory into the framework of symmetry breaking. Altogether, our results provide a strong evidence for the existence of a general connection between non-linear realization and TTbar-deformation.
