Numinous narratives as a part of children´s folklore

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje numinózní (démonologické) orální narativy v současném dětském folkloru. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. První část se zaměřuje na definice důležitých analytických termínů, jako jsou folklor, dětský folklor a numinózní narativy. Popisuje také jejich historický a sociální kontext a jejich klasifikaci do typů. Výzkum v druhé části je zaměřen na pohled dětí na numinózní narativy v moderní společnosti a vliv massmédií např. filmu a televize. Jsou zde také uvedeny výsledky výzkumu narativů v místní orální tradici a výsledky o tom, jak sami děti tyto příběhy vnímají.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis analyzes numinous (demonological) oral narratives in contemporary children's folklore. The work is divided in two parts, theoretical and empirical. The first part focuses on definitions of important analytical terms such as "folklore", "children's folklore" and "numinous narratives". It also describes their historical and social contexts and their classification into appropriate genelogical types. The research in the second part focuses on children's point of view on numinous narratives in modern society and the influence of mass media such as films and television. It also presents the results of the analysis of narratives collected in local oral tradition as well as the conclusion about how children themselves percieve these narratives.
