Applying the Smart Cities concept in the energy sector

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá uplatněním koncepce Smart Cities v oblasti energetiky. Cílem této práce je zpracovat přehled možností využití „chytrých“ řešení v oblasti energetiky měst a u konkrétního vybraného projektu představit významné aspekty jeho realizace. V teoretické části je poukázáno na vyšší spotřebu energie díky rostoucí populaci, představení chytrých sítí a jejich výhod, využití obnovitelné energie s cílem snižovat emise uhlíku, zlepšovat energetickou bezpečnost a představení moderních možností v oblasti energetiky. V praktické části je popsán projekt spojený s integrací obnovitelných zdrojů energie (FVE) do energetického mixu měst, na kterém jsou demonstrovány klíčové aspekty realizace z pohledu investora, včetně hodnocení ekonomické efektivnosti. Zároveň je demonstrována role specializovaných dodavatelských firem v podpoře a efektivním managementu procesu zvyšování podílu obnovitelných zdrojů v energií ve městech.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the application of the Smart Cities concept in the field of energy. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the possibilities of using „smart“ solutions in the field of energy in cities and to present the important aspects of its implementation for a specific selected project. The theoretical part higlights the higher energy consumption due to a growing population, introduces smart grids and their bemefits, the use of renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy security, and presents modern energy options. In the practical part, the project related to the integration of renewable energy sources (PV systems) into the urban energy mix is described. It demonstrates key aspects of implementation from an investor's perspective, including an assessment of economic efficiency. At the same time, the role of specialized supply companies in supporting and efficiently managing the process of increasing the share of renewable energy in cities is demonstrated.
