Bakalářská práce se zabývá historií Moravské západní dráhy a to od její výstavby až po zestátnění. Úvod práce je věnován vzniku a vývoji regionálních tratí tzv. lokálek. Významnou částí práce je hospodaření akciové společnosti Moravské západní dráhy. Hlavním zdrojem informací byly výroční zprávy z provozu železnice. This bachelor's thesis deals with the history of the Moravian Western Railway from its construction to nationalization. The introductory part is devoted to the formation and development of regional railway lines, so-called local trains.
