Museums, Galleries and Permanent Exhibitions as a Part of Local Culture of the Chomutov District

Abstract:

Místní a regionální kultura je velmi důležitým prvkem pro život obyvatelstva na daném území a to obzvláště pro oblast Chomutovska, kterou si autorka ve své práci vybrala. Vzhledem k poválečnému vývoji regionu došlo k rozbití kulturních tradic a nové obyvatelstvo často nemělo ani ponětí o životě v předcházejících obdobích. Seznamování s lokální historií je velice významné pro vytváření identity obyvatelstva s prostředím, ve kterém žijí. Významnou roli v tomto snažení hrají místní muzea, galerie a stálé expozice. Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na historii a současnost muzejnictví a výstavnictví na Chomutovsku. Zajímavým zjištěním bylo, že významná muzea se nemusí nacházet pouze v centrálních sídlech, ale i v periferních malých obcích. Cílem této bakalářské práce je lokalizovat muzea, galerie a stálé expozice v okrese Chomutov a vyhodnotit jejich význam pro vytváření lokálního patriotismu.

Abstract:

Local and regional culture is a very important element for the life of population in a certain geographic area. For the bachelor thesis, the author chose the area of Chomutov. Due to the post-war development of the region, cultural traditions were broken and the new population often had no idea about the life in previous periods. Nurturing the local history is very important for creating the identity of the population in connection to the environment they live in. Local museums, galleries and permanent exhibitions play an important role in this effort. This bachelor thesis focuses on the history and the presence of the museums and exhibitions in the district of Chomutov. Interesting findings of the paper are that important museums are not necessarily located only in central cities but also in small peripheral municipalities. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to locate museums, galleries and permanent exhibitions in the Chomutov district and to evaluate their importance for the creation of local patriotism.
