Possibilities of gait training in a home environment for a client with Central Paresis

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou možnosti výcviku chůze v domácím prostředí u klienta s centrální parézou. V teoretické části byla rozebrána centrální paréza, domácí rehabilitace, chůze a ergoterapie v domácí rehabilitaci. Praktická část se zaměřila na schopnosti chůze hodnocené pomocí dvou testů UP&GO test a Hodnocení pohyblivosti podle E. Tinetti. Ergoterapeutické intervence byly založeny na metodách s neurofyziologickým podkladem. Mezi sledované parametry patřily rychlost chůze, kvalita chůze a rovnováha. Měření probíhalo po dobu čtyř měsíců v domácím prostředí klientů. Byla shromážděna data od třech pacientů - jedna žena a dva muži s centrální parézou a s různými klinickými příznaky. Výsledky prokázaly mírné pozitivní využití ergoterapeutické intervence pro zvýšení schopnosti chůze a rovnováhy v domácím prostředí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis explores the possibility of gait training in the home environment in clients with central paresis. In the theoretical part topics such central paresis, home rehabilitation, walking and occupational therapy in home-based rehabilitation were analyzed. The practical part focused on gait ability, which was evaluated by two tests namely: UP&GO test and Tinetti test. Occupational therapeutic interventions were based on methods with a neurophysiological basis. The parameters monitored included gait speed, gait quality and balance. Assessments were performed over a period of four months in the homes of the clients. Data from three patients - one female and two males with central paresis and with various clinical signs were collected. The results showed a mild positive use of occupational therapy to increase gait ability and balance in the home environment.
