Comparison of accounting of an individual entrepreneur and a limited liability company

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na účetnictví individuálních podnikatelů a společností s ručením omezeným. Na začátku jsou obě vybrané formy podnikání právně vymezeny, dále jsou definovány účetní jednotky a jejich povinnosti týkající se vedení účetnictví. Hlavní část práce je věnována samotnému účtování v oblastech typických pro konkrétní formu podnikání. Nejzásadnější rozdíl je v operacích týkajících se účtu individuálního podnikatele a jeho ekvivalentu u s.r.o. – základního kapitálu, což vychází z odlišného typu ručení. Naproti tomu, účtování o zásobách nebo mzdách se v obou formách zásadně neliší. Souhrnný příklad na konci demonstruje pravidla a zmíněné postupy z předchozích částí na dvou smyšlených účetních jednotkách. Většina operací v průběhu prvního roku podnikaní, tak jak jsou popsána v práci, jsou tak převedena do praxe.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the accounting of individual entrepreneurs and limited liability companies. First, both entities are legally defined; then, accounting units and their accounting responsibilities are defined. The main part of the thesis is devoted to bookkeeping in the areas typical for the particular type of entity. The most important difference is in the operations related to the account of the individual entrepreneur and its equivalent for LLCs – basic capital; this follows from differing forms of liability. On the other hand, keeping books for stocks or salaries, does not differ significantly. At the end of the thesis, a comprehensive example demonstrates the rules and procedures from the previous sections on two fictitious accounting units. Most of the operations during the first business year, as described throughout the thesis are thus shown in practice.
