Weapons of Mass Destruction as a Security Threat and the Czech Republic's Readiness to Eliminate it

Abstract:

Diplomová práce řeší problematiku v oblasti hrozby a případného napadení České republiky zbraněmi hromadného ničení teroristickými i neteroristickými organizacemi. Je zde uvedeno nespočet právních předpisů a význam mezinárodních dohod, které jsou nápomocny k udržení mezistátního míru. Metoda k řešení problému je znázorněná pomocí analýzy SWOT. Připravenost České republiky a eliminace případného útoku na chemický závod je zde vyobrazen v modelové situaci za pomoci softwarového nástroje TerEx, kde je uveden návrh redukce vybraného rizika při napadení a následné odstranění příčin ohrožení osob, kritické infrastruktury a životního prostředí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis addresses the issue of the threat and possible attack of the Czech Republic by weapons of mass destruction by terrorist and non-terrorist organizations. It lists a wealth of legislation and the importance of international agreements that help maintain interstate peace. The method for solving the problem is illustrated by SWOT analysis. The readiness of the Czech Republic and the elimination of a possible attack on a chemical plant is depicted here in a model situation using the software tool TeRex, which presents a proposal to reduce the selected risk of attack and subsequent elimination of the causes of danger to people, critical infrastructure and the environment.
