Development of the situation, that resulted into a culmination of 1989 revolution in Opava

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na vývoj situace v období tzv. normalizace, jež vyústila v tzv. sametovou revoluci. Diplomová práce popisuje události, které vedly ke vzniku tzv. normalizace, dopad ?normalizačního? systému na hospodářství a sociální systém. Dále popisuje problematiku Československého školství ve sledovaném období, ideologické působení KSČ na mladou generaci, formy odporu vůči komunistickému režimu a projevy perzekuce. Práce se také zabývá nárůstem opozice ve 2. polovině osmdesátých let, sleduje aktivitu disentu na regionální úrovni a průběh tzv. sametové revoluce v Opavě, to vše s důrazem na výpovědi pamětníků.

Abstract:

The work is focused on the development of the situation during the period called normalization that ended up in the Velvet Revolution. The thesis describes events leading to ?normalizace?, the impact of normalization system on the economy and the social system. It also describes an issue of the Czechoslovakian education during the focused period, ideological influence of KSČ on the youth, means of resistance towards communism, expressions of persecution. The work also deals with growth of the opposition in the second half of the eighth decade, it studies the acting of dissent on the regional level and progress of the Velvet Revolution in Opava; where the emphasis is put on the evidence of the witnesses.
